This is the rickety old...

This is the rickety old structure on the summit--unusual to see up there, but the effects of the place are neat: the old weathered frame filled with snow.

Mule shed or Fire lookout?

I know there were both there for many decades, tough to know for sure which was which without seeing duffy stalls or a firefinder, for example. Any ideas?

Re: Mule shed or Fire lookout?

That is what is remaining of the old miners shack where they mined sulfur. Somewhere in one of the forest service offices once i saw a photo of a group leading a team of mules up the south side with supplies for the miners during the summer. Want to say it was back in the 20's or earlier. But i dont know if you can still find it but there was also a fire look out up there too, but has been gone for 25 years or better, it wasnt very big and then there were just some of the posts left.
