This is the type of...

This is the type of lunar-like terrain you'll be driving through when you're close to the trail head at 12,000', the locked gate. On the top left, you'll see a light line snaking on top of the hill tops, which is the road you take here. This view is us finishing the hike and heading back.

Peaks in the view...

Hi... nice shot of: Left of center, behind ridge, Blanco Pk; 11,600+; center, on main divide, Sheep mtn. 12,500+; right edge, Piute Mtn., 12,600+. The Piute Mtn. hike is short, but is a nice cross country walk from the locked gate. There is a wonderful view of the Sierra Crest from that peak--for those
that do not want to ascend Barcroft, 13040 or White. And over the saddle between Sheep and Piute is, I believe, Waucoba Mtn., highest in the Inyos' at 11,123 ft.
