Doubt it's from IroquoisIroquois doesn't provide that view of Wallface from what I remember from my last time atop Iroqouis. Iroquois is North of Wallface, but this view seems to be from South of Wallface. It is an interest photo regardless!

Re: Doubt it's from IroquoisYeah your right it is even too high for any other peak in the area so it must of been shot from an airplane.

I had know Idea where this photo came from. I got it as an attachment on a email from a freind of a freind etc when we were talking about heading down there one day a few years ago.
I will change the caption and give a link to your site and SP profile.

Re: The photo was taken from a low flying planeNo problem mate. Keep it up there ... I've gotten over the initial shock (hehe) ... the image was supposed to capture both Wallface and Heart Lake (where the Adirondak Loj is located) and the terrain in between. Unfortunately the lake is not terribly clear from this picture.
Cheers,
Keith.
P.S. I can recommend taking joy flights from Lake Placid airport ... particularly after you have spent a day (or days) struggling through the wilderness. Very cathartic.
