Thistles and rocks

All bushes and trees on Psiloritis (and the whole of Crete) have many prickly thorns, to protect themselves from the goats. This shot is taken from about halfway up, so there's still another vertical kilometer to go before we reach the summit, somewhere high up there in the stony desert moon landscape!
