From Islip Saddle, I decided to hit the furthest peak on my list first and work my way back home tagging Hawkins, Middle Hawkins and Islip. Quite icy on lower trail sections then no need for crampons after Windy Gap. Enjoyable hike but the views suck thanks to poor air quality and burnt trees.
Really enjoyed this hike. Also bagged Mount Lewis
From MM 66.38 to Mt. Islip, Mt. Hawkins, Throop Peak, Mt. Burnham, Mt. Baden-Powell and back. Go Caltech!
I think I ran into you on your way up to Islip and had a chat?
Easy and obvious use trail from PCT near Dawson Saddle trail.
Quick & Fun! Cool geology and great views.
Hiked Throop & Lewis on a bum knee...ouch.
Started at Dawson Saddle to Throop and then to Hawkins and down, down to Copter Ridge. Beautiful clear day.
From Dawson Saddle Trailhead to the saddle between Throop and Burnham and up the ridge.
First summit of my 3-Niner romp from Dawson Saddle. Very pleasant hike through forest and the views were spectacular to the ocean! Also tacked on Mount Lewis for a 4 HPS day.
Got blasted by wind along the ridge from Baden-Powell and Burnham. Continued down to Dawson Saddle and up Mt. Lewis.
Still rolling on the ridge.
Stopped up on my way to Baden Powell. Hot day - glad I got an early start... Really enjoyed this stretch of the PCT...
Reached summit as part of a PCT segment outing beginning North Islip. Pleasant summit and well worth the detour off the PCT.
Very nice hike. Went to see the new bridge up the road a bit then came back to the saddle did this peak. It was a beautiful day. There's still some snow on the trail.
Nice hike with lots of trees. Dawsons finally open.
Combined with Hawkins. Great day with amazing views. Lots of bees on top.
I once spent the night on the peak in the late 80's. A great place to wake up at.
on the way back from Baden-Powell
A much better looking peak than Burnham. Nice little plaque at the summit. Trip Report
