the thumb  Sucess!

Daylight was waning on my last day of vacation in yangshuo, it was sunday evening and I was hanging in my harness at the fourth belay station, as my tiring partner was climbing up from below I cheered her on.

Once she arrived to the belay, we quickly swapped belays and I rushed up the final pitch. I thoroughly enjoyed the finale. It has some secure moves that lead into a flaring chimney which finishes with a small roof and pull up to the anchor. Great.

The first pitch is also fantastic. The second pitch is relatively easy but fun with great views. The third and fourth pitch have really exposed steep climbing with typical sharp rock and solid holds.

I quickly rapped down to meet my partner at the 4th belay. From there we made two raps and nearly bottomed out with 2 rappels. We flagged down a motorcycle taxi at 8:20pm and returned to the residency by 9:00pm. We did manage to catch our midnight flight out of Guilin and I got to work on time Monday morning in Shanghai!
