With Mount San Antonio, Mount Harwood, Devils Backbone & Gold Ridge.
Out and back from Icehouse Canyon. Only saw 6 people between Thunder and the Icehouse Saddle, and it was a sunny Saturday morning. Rain started to roll in around 1pm when I was getting back to the car, but nice clear views from the mountaintops.
With a group.
Three T's is a sweet hike to some of the highest peaks in the San Gabriels. Nice view of both valleys.
7 hours round-trip. Not much snow yet except on the north faces. I descended off-trail in the Big Butch wash.
Used this to train for another hike. Hot day. Pack a lot of water. Trail runners all the way. Sun protection
Hiked to Baldy Notch, Thunder Mountain and Telegraph Peak. Saw 3 Bighorn Sheep about 100 feet from Telegraph summit. Another great hike in the San Gabriels.
Baldy & 3T's from Baldy Village
I hiked the three T's loop with friends Chris and Tom. We got off in the Baldy ski area and ended up coming down Big Butch Gulch to Manker Flat, Fun! (Really).
Three of Three
hit this up on the icy/snowy fire road up from the notch as part of some crampon/arrest training.
First of the Three T's from Manker Flat. The views were very nice, but spoiled by the ski area facilities. Hike was a very enjoyable workout as an 'out & back' as we didn't have a car shuttle. Total stats were 15 miles RT and 4,700' shortened by riding the chair down.
3rd time doing this loop and I finally went the extra bit to tag this summit.
Tagged this summit on way to Baldy Notch.
great hike, around 3900' gain over 13 1/2 miles
A good day hiking with new friends.
This was the 1st peak of the day, a beautiful Three T's hike up from Middle Fork Trailhead.
After descending Devil's Backbone to Baldy Notch, on to the 3 T's to finish up the traverse. Thunder fell first.
