Tiefen glacier
Looking towards the Tiefen glacier in the Uri area, Switzerland. The Strahlengratli is the rocky ridge in the middle-left of the picture. Approach is via the vestigal snowfield on the left-hand side (seen from photographer's perspective), from where one gains the ridge at an obvious ramp. Framing the photo on the left is the Gross Bielenhorn, with the striking Galenstock dominating the skyline. July 2006.
