This one isn't all that far away from the tri-cities. Interesting area that I knew nothing about. BTW, I lived in Auburn for 4 years before moving eastward.
Thanks for the vote Dean. Auburn is a nice place. We've been enjoying the area, getting to know Tacoma and Seattle has been fun. We live on Military Road which is near 320th street which has everything within a mile.
we did a few easy (5.7 and lower) routes there early in our climbing career. Fun place and stiff grades is all I remember from that trip. Great action shots BTW!
Vacation was VERY passive - eating, driking, and watching pouring rain. Plans to check out the Gunks went nowhere due to weather.....oh well, next time I guess.
Is there a group or forum for the Yakima/Tieton area? I just moved here and all my climbing buddies are up by Frenchman Coulee. Never climbed here but would like to. Hit me up if you are interested or point me in the right direction. Thanks all
I notice that no one has commented on this page since the discovery of the internet -thanks Al- but I thought I'd give it a shot. I am new to the Yakima area and am looking for some folks to link up with for climbing. I haven't been to the Tieton canyon yet so I thought I'd start here. I've been climbing at Frenchman Coulee AKA Vantage. Anyway, I've been looking for a website or Fbook page or anything for the area, but it looks like this area is one of a few things; dead, hasn't met the post 2000 evolution of social media, or is low key. In any case, if any of you are interested in meeting up let me know.
