Finally, Some Granite!
I've been hiking here for a week on nothing but talus. This was a fun scramble.

South Slope
Im a scrambler at best, not a climber. Found a good route up the south slope, just to the west of the ridge. Circumnavigated the base to the north side where the boulders were smaller. Fun scramble. Wanted to string it with 11,887 and 12,002 but knew I couldn't outrun the mid day t-storms. Added Gaylor as a consolation.
A nice little side-scramble from the High Route. Takes no more than 30 min to summit. The rock is solid and pleasant-feeling, and there is actually some enjoyable class 3 on the lower section of the east face, if you look for it. I'm sure this peak gets little attention from hikers who visit the area, but its scramble is better than Gaylor's.
