first Catskill hike
I chose a weekend camping trip to Little Pond Campground (versus other CGs in the area) because I wanted to do this hike with my 4yo daughter. Fortunately the weather held, on what was otherwise a pretty soggy weekend, and we were able to make the loop in about 3 hours. I carried my daughter up ~2/3 of the ascent (which was expected), and her grandfather - 4 months removed from a hip replacement - joined us. My daughter has asked multiple times in the ten days since we did this if we can do it again, which is a huge success in my book.
It was a nice hike, but the tree cover did not allow for much in the way of views. Perhaps doing this again in late Sept or early Oct would afford better vistas.
