Mud from a C & O Canal Towpath Bike Ride Even if the towpath was relatively dry days after a rain there would always be mud puddles which of course splattered up when you were riding through them. We quickly learned to put down drop cloths in the sag wagons when we picked up the Scouts after a day of riding.
