Trail Creek Lakes

This was one of my very first backpacking destinations as a kid. How close did the Grandjean fire get to the lakes, and how much of the approach trail got burned?

Dave, sadly the fire burned right up to the shore. I think that's part of the reason for the fish-less aspect of them. All the feed got burned up. The trail on the other hand is actually in pretty good shape right up to almost the crest (the burn area starts probably 200 vertical feet below the junction). I was sorry to see it so close to the lakes ...
