Location
From Clovis: Take highway 168 toward Shaver Lake. Turn east on Dinkey Creek Road. Follow to Rock Creek Road (National Forest Road 9) turn left. Head north to Road 9S10 then right. Follow Forest road 9S10 to Forest road 9S62 follow road east to the trailhead.

Yes. Permits are required for overnight camping in wilderness areas. First-come/first-served walk in permits may be obtained at the Sierra National Forest: High Sierra Ranger Station in Prather; Dinkey Creek Visitor Station , or Supervisors Office in Clovis.
