Trappers Peak

Trappers Peak

Trappers Peak seen from the meadow just west of Wall Lake. This one may have the best views in the Flat Tops. The easiest way up from the north side is to hit the obvious saddle on the left in the picture. 7-17-2006.

Thank You

Jim,
I am waffling between trying this or Derby Peak next. Thanks for the photo. Is the best way to get to Trappers Lake to go thought Yampa?

Re: Thank You

You should give Trappers a try. Derby is good too but Trappers sits out on the plateau and has an entirely different character than the peaks on the edge like Flat Top and Derby etc. You can make a great loop hike of it from Trappers. Good camping just about anywhere up there. Just watch out for mosquitoes.

It's definitely shorter to go through Yampa.

Trappers Peak

If interested, I added Trappers Peak to Summitpost. I have attached this photo and have used it on the page.

PS, I think this meadow is just west of Walll Lake rather than east?

Re: Trappers Peak

Nice addition Scott. You are correct, that meadow is west of Wall Lake. I'll change the caption.
