Triassic Sands From Base

Triassic Sands From Base

Looking up at Triassic Sands route from near the start of the climb. Note that only short sections of the route have been indicated in light blue - those sections generally correspond to face climbing sections (I did not wish to draw over cracks to preserve details). Only the first 4+ pitches are visible here. Route starts up the short, wide, right leaning crack (5.7). Crux hits on the first 15 feet of pitch 2. Standard approach to base comes in from the RIGHT side of photo (coming in from left side - or Frogland - involves considerable bushwhacking; Feb. 11, 2006).

Nice piece of rock

Finally intercepted something of yours :) still having difficulty navigating the maze of crowded new SP... Looks like a fun climb, wish I could go there now and escape the arctic weather upon us.

Re: Nice piece of rock

THanks Haydar!
Me too - i.e. difficulties in navigating etc... Guess I was way too used to the old version - this one seems so busy on the eyes!

from the photos. So you didn't care for the route? 3 stars out 5 is worth doing?

Re: Looks really great

Thanks Martin. Great route indeed!

Maybe I screwed up clicking on it (3 stars??)? Think it deserves 4-5 stars. Probably some of the best crack climbing in RR (more famous for its face flake pulling than jamming IMHO).
