You made a good Sunday outing. Trifels Castle looks pretty strong. I voted on all the pix a few days ago save a few as they came by. The components of the panorama are nice and I really liked the mushroom boulder in the forest.
Did the farmers ever lay siege to Trifels back in the 1500's?

Did the farmers lay siege? I actually don't know. I would say they must have but Trifels is a bit apart from the rest of the ridge. Today there is a road leading to the base of the castle. I can't imagine what it was like in the 16th century.
Fine page: therefore is it a subgroup of Südpfalz climbing region ?

Thanks Livio. It is a sub-sub-group. The subgroup would be the Annweiler Region, which has several of these subgroups. But must of them are less important.
Thanks Lolli, glad you liked it. Actually the peregrines are having a hard time with all the climbers. All restrictions are voluntary - there are no enforcable laws in Germany. So far it seems to work quite well. There is a list of seasonal closures and I assume, climbers adher to it.
But climbing and nature preservation don't go well with each other in these premises. There's been a lot of quarreling in the old days...
