Trifle - Mandarin Oranges and Amaretti Biscuit

Layering: Amaretti biscuits (if hard type, add a little more dry white wine). Or the soft, just enough to wet them. Layer of tinned, mandarin orange segments, plus some of the juice, Thin layer of custard, Sliced banana, Layer of thick cream, Layer of sliced, seedless grapes, Layer of sponge fingers (wet with wine) Layer of cream, continue to build the layers until bowl is topped out. Place in fridge for several hours.

Thanks. My neice recommended me to use white wine to soften the sponges and amaretti biscotti. Wine instead of the usual sherry is more subtle and does not overpower the fruit.

Use thick cream for building the layers, and add thin cream when serving. Wow, so much cream. But so satisfying.
