Turnagain Arm, AK

Turnagain Arm, AK

A March 2003 sunset over Turnagain Arm near Girdwood, AK. The view is roughly southwest from the notable pullout along the Seward Highway. It is crazy to me that this shot, although manipulated with a 300mm lens, is right on a major highway. These mountains are just west of Portage Glacier I think and maybe are not part of the Chugach. If anyone knows what range they belong to, please speak up! Fuji Velvia 50. note - the lat/long is from where the picture was taken.

Nmae of range

South of Portage you are techniclly into the Kenai Mountains; though the geology is the same all the way from Kodiak to Vadez and in some areas beyond.
