thank your for this very interesting trip report. doing the Palue traverse is on my list since many years. Congratulations!
This is a strange summer: always fine weekends and then the weather detoriates during the weekdays!
Thanks Matthias! Yes the traverse has a certain mystic doesn´t it. I really enjoyed it, although maybe it would be better from west to east. The sun at your back but there again climbing up the west ridge was fun! And yes the weather has been odd.
Ciao

Hi Charles, nice trip report! I really enjoyed reading about your adventures. Pitty about the stone and the dubious weather. We did the morteratsch, bianco and palu last summer in 3 days of perfect weather, really lucky I guess. I thought the Palu west-east was very enjoyable, nice to read about it in your report.
Hi Bart, thanks for your kind words! West-East was good fun but the sun in your eyes was, at times, annoying--but better than a gale force wind :o))
The Bianco was on the list, but after our valley stay we ended up in the wrong place to do it.
Hi Charles, I only just now saw this. Brought back great memories for me and I can totally imagine what those ridges were like in the snowed-up state you had. Sounds really fun, though full of suspense too!
