My wife and I also enjoyed that route. We were a little worried about the first part - it was covered in slippery mud from rain in the previous days! But continuing was fine. Great trip report, thanks from all us readers :D.
Thank you for you kind comments mvs. Yes, the scree slopes are quite steep, and I can imagine how they would be when wet, but they were dry when we were there. Hope you had a better view from the summit, though.
Thank you vancouver islander. Glad to see your appreciative comments on text and photos. The one with the climbers coming down from the tower is one of my own favourites too!
Thank you very much David, but there is no denying that our endurance and speed has diminished. You still have nearly fifty years to go before you reach our age, so climb as many mountains as possible before that. That is one thing you will never regret.
Best of luck, Ejnar
P.S. Love your Poincaré quote!
As I close in on my 67th year, I love to see people my age doing what I love to do. You guys are great. I really started climbing again when I turned 62 and I really believe this is making me younger than I was. Bravo to you both and thanks for sharing your adventure.
Ejnar,
Thanks very much for a well written trip report. If my plan goes well, I will retire before I'm 50! I hope to spend it on adventures like yours.
Where in Wales do you go? As a Welshman that's where I do most of my rock climbing.
We have only been to Wales once, for a week when our kids were small, so we just climbed Snowdon and Tryfan with them. We were very favorably impressed with the scenery, though, and would have liked to do something more adventurous.
I hope you succeed with your plans for an early retirment and much climbing!

"as age is beginning to show its effects, when you have reached the age of 67"Hardly! What a way to spend retirement; I only hope I'll be so lucky! Thanks for a great read and excellent photos!
