Unicorn to Plummer Traverse

Here's our route for a Unicorn, Foss, Castle, Pinnacle, Plummer traverse. Notice that we went over the saddle on our ascent of Unicorn, but that isn't an improvement over the standard route that has a short steep head-wall to overcome. I think there was a more direct way to get west of The Castle. We followed a boot-track, and there was a lot of side-hilling to get back north. Lastly, I expected Pinnacle to be an easy 2nd class walk-up, but there was some 3rd class IMO. Nothing too difficult, but the loose pebbles made a couple of places more "interesting" that I expected. The trip stats were 8 mi, 4500' using a car shuttle. July 25, 2009
