View from the trailhead to the base of Lower Yosemite Falls. What a coincidence that no trees happen to grow in the path of the view! ;) Actually, the view was created by James Hutchings, one of the first permanent settlers of Yosemite, who was instrumental in the creation of Yosemite National Park. While the NPS will not cut down new trees for the sake of sightlines, they do continue to trim these trees to prevent blocking this "historic" view. Like many policies at Yosemite, however, this could change in the future. Taken June 4, 2005.
