Nice! Great job.Did you have time and energy to preambulate all the way around the crater? Is that steam and ash wafting out of the throat? Sorry for all the questions, just that Cotopaxi is one of my favorites. Welcome to SummitPost!

no I didn't do the circuit. One told me, that it's around 3km and pretty crevassed. What we tried is hiking up the south face and continuing on the crater rim to the main summit. Unfortunately we hat to turn back at 5600m due to bad weather and difficult route finding.

Re: Nice! Great job.Looks like you are at the summit to me, albeit might be a false one. Still a terrific memory- clad adventure. It is on my list for sure once I get the opportunity.
