Weak & weary certainly described coming down Katahdin for sure. (Check out HowieHiker's trip report)

The view that never was

I think Baxter has great character in the mist. Yes, looking down on Chimney Pond would be nice, but working your way up the mountain knowing what's around you but not being able to see it adds a sense of mystery and keeps your focus on your immediate surroundings.
