Nice one, butitsadryheat. Reminds me of the Fall, which is just around to corner... my favorite season.
Thanks peninsula. I'm watching the fall color thread/website to time my next trip to the Bishop area.My favorite time of the year as well. Football, color, great hiking weather!
(BTW, I hear the big fat trout are hitting the emerging flies HARD up in the upper Kern River, above Johnsondale. May have to make a day trip, eh?)
In all my years, I've never had the opportunity to wet a fly in the Fall. Next year, I'm planning to take my first Fall trip into the Sierra (if all goes according to plan). In the meantime, a day trip sounds like a great idea!
Beautiful photo, by the way, its a sycamore.
Thanks for the kind words and the vote! (but actually, it's a Liquidambar, the Sycamore has a smooth seed ball, and the Liquidambar has a spiky one. Same family though!)
Doh! That's embarrasing considering that I'm a forester. My defense is that liquidambar don't grow in the upper midwest where I'm from or in Las Vegas where I live. :)
Sounds good to me!
