Gather round Kiddos, I have a tale to tell: I'm wearing a pair of Dachstein ragg wool mittens (a classic), the ice ax is the first aluminum shaft ax made by Mountain Safety Research (MSR) maybe the first ever made, those are Korean War Army surplus wool trousers, a The North Face (I think)60/40 parka, the wool shirt I'm wearing, which you can't see, was purchased the July before from a sale table at a men's store at a mall in Texas. Think about it, buying a wool shirt in Texas in July, probably only 103 degrees outside.Those are an early version of over boots, back when most wore gaiters, only thing available.Can't remember who made them. Carrying an old Millet summit pack.
