The Mount Whitney summit hut, whose chimney is the highest object in 49 out of 50 United States. (Grrrrrr!) This photo somewhat shows the hut relationship to the mountain's natural summit, which is near the camera's location. 11 August 2009.

The hut is not too bad, but I just wish it were built a little more to the west, about 10 vertical feet lower than where it is now. And it's funny that the chimney is the highest point because I think it's for a stove (or something) that nobody can use anyway.
