It is truly one of the best places in Washington state. I've been up there over 30 times and can't ever get my fill. Tell us about your trip and how long you were able to
visit. Did you get over to Shields Lake or down to Crystal Lake? So many special places.
Well, for one thing, it's sad that this was my first trip to the Enchantments. (I live in Wenatchee!) Most of my mountain life has been spent in the North Cascades. Also, sadly, this trip was brief. Where I stand was as far as we got (we came over Aasgard, since we could only get permits for Colchuck). My parents aren't the most adventurous souls (I'm only a teenager), and they weren't going for my plans to go farther or summit Little A or anything like that. :( Here's a TR: http://www.nwhikers.net/forums/viewtopic.php?t=7988214&highlight= I'd love to get back though, I was actually planning on climbing Colchuck Peak this week but that got delayed. What little I've seen of it, but it's an awesome place.
One thing about living close, you will be back many more times. I did a traverse of the Enchantments a few years back and that was a great way to see everything but its a long day. Take care.
