This picture is from Otto's Trail on top of Colorado National Monument. Please look at this recent story about the hope of many to make the Monument into a National Park!: http://www.summitpost.org/view_object.php?object_id=701170&confirm_post=7- Please write you Maryland Representative in support of the name change from National Monument to National Park. It will help our local economy, and more travelers will delight in the Desert Towers and stunning views that would otherwise be passed over enroute to the surrounding Parks like Arches, Canyonlands and Black Canyon...
The photo is zoomed over the wall of Monument Mesa at the iconic crown of Mount Garfield. Mount Garfield and the North Turret of the Grand Mesa form the Western Gateway to Colorado's Rocky Mountains. It is quite impressive and an unforgettable sight from my home of Grand Junction, Colorado.
