Valley of Flowers

Valley of Flowers (3000-3600m), Uttaranchal, India. This view of the valley is looking eastwards while heading for the easy Ghunta Khal Pass (4430m - the decent from this pass to Hanuman Chatti, from bitter experience, I would stongly not recommend). The highest mountain is Hathi Parbat (Elephant Peak, 6700m).The valley was made famous by Frank Smythe. Early October 2005.

Thanks, here is another picture of the Valley of Flowers . Being near to the source of the Ganges, a lot of the surrounding area including the ajoining valley, is sacred to hindus.
