There is a nice trek to the Mismi volcano nearby. Thanks for tantalizing ;-) (to tease or torment by or as if by presenting something desirable to the view but continually keeping it out of reach).. that's it !
Nice work here--it sounds like a really interesting trip.
i couldn't help but chuckle as i read your experience in Aplao. i spent a few days there last year, in the Majes River Lodge, and i experienced the same pre-Inca gravesite as well as the petroglyphs, although i never saw the dinosaur bones.
i also laughed when i read your account that pre-Inca ruins "seem to be everywhere". One of our jokes in Aplao was that everything is pre-Inca, and this was proven when we got into Julio's van to go the graves and he said "This thing is pre-Inca".
Thanks for taking me back to places i've already been and taking me to places i haven't made it to yet!
Thanks and you're welcome, glad you enjoyed the "trip". Yes, Julio is quite a character, isn't he. Hey, would you like to see some pre-Inca pottery?!?! Vic
