Van Patten Butte rises more...
Van Patten Butte rises more than 5,000 ft. above the broad Baker Valley to the east. Forest fires have made the air a bit fuzzy, but the town of North Powder is faintly visible at the center and a smoke plume from the Mule Fire can be seen at top center in the distant Wallowa Mountains. August 2005.
