The general line of the Old Chute Route on Mt. Hood follows the climbers in the photo. We took a more direct finish up the steeper couloir on climber's right marked with the red arrow. Nearing 50 degrees, the route wraps behind the rock in the photo. It was an aesthetic finish and put us on the summit ridge only 50 feet from the summit.
