Vernal Falls

This is the Mist trail, with a rainbow. This last section of the trail to the top of the falls ascends 400 vertical feet by the use of some 500 steps carfed out of the pure granite. The last hair-raisng 70 feet was cut out of the wall itself; but in the early days this final ascent was accomplished by climbing some rickety ladders!
