The top of the West Summit...

The top of the West Summit (5,407 ft). Two plastic stakes were poking out of the snow at the highest point. I guess there was a benchmark underneath the snow and maybe even a register. But the snow was 3 feet deep (or so I found after digging down with my ice axe). April 18, 2005.

No benchmark

Bob and I checked that out pretty good and there was nothing in between the stakes. One of the plastic ones was gone and a wooden one was in its place. We did find a Mt. St. Helens National Volcanic Monument marker about 20 feet to the northwest but slightly downhill. Seemed like some sort of a section marker.
