Approach

Sart at Galena park. Take the Jones creek White creek trail head to Churches Ponds from here is just a non technical scramble to the summit.

Route Description

The trail head is pretty straight forward and well traveled. When you reach Churches Ponds there is no more trail. From there you can go to the right up the gulley to the summit, or go to the left and traverse across anouther small mountain. The goal here is to aim for the base of the summit. Once you have reached the base traverse towards the summit until you reach the wind shelters and you have made it.

Essential Gear

Winter travel may require Ice Ax and Crampons for the Summit aproach, it gets some what icy do to the high winds out of the North West. The North face also offers great skiing in the winter.

Route Comment

You start from Galena Park and follow Galena creek drainage for a 1/4 mile. Then head north west up to the summit of peak 7730. From there you follow the ridge line to Chocolate Peak and head up and over the peak down to Contact pass. You then head for the base of the North East face . From there you go for the summit.
