Approach
See the Getting There section of the Main Page for directions to the trailhead.
Route Description
From the trailhead, hike the old forest road through a few slide areas (caused by clearcutting not leaving any roots to hold the ground down with) for 1.3 miles. At the large slide area there is a trail up and around. When you reach a point where the road is torn up ahead and there is a Table Rock Wilderness sign to the right, turn right and take the trail into the forest. Ignore the trail to the right about 100 yards into the trail, it's an old cat road now a trail that heads towards Rooster Rock. It's 1.9 miles up to a saddle first through forests and then beneath some dramatic basalt cliffs through a rockfield. (Before the cliffs about a quarter of a mile is a rock outcropping you can scramble up.) At the saddle (open area with remnants of a fire ring surrounded by small tree trunks), look for a sharp cutback left. This switchbacks up about .4 miles to the summit. (The other trail from the saddle heading to the right heads over to Rooster Rock and is the Saddle Trail - unmarked). Descend the same route.
Trail is 3.6 miles long with about 1500 feet of elevation gain.
