Route Description

Follow the main, marked trail for roughly 10 minutes to the Bonneville Shoreline Trail. There are a number of other trails branching off, going every which way, but just aim for the bigger, more obvious path and you should be fine. Once at the BST, you can turn either left or right and find trails continuing up towards Big Beacon. I prefer to head right (south) for about .1 mile, taking a steep trail that branches left at a powerline. Climb this steep trail for about 200 feet and you’ll meet the trail coming up (with a trail marker) should you decide to go left (north) at the BST. From here continue north climbing the peak’s southwest ridge all the way to the summit. The reflectors obvious from much of the valley will be in sight most of the way. The ridge is continually steep, but requires no scrambling and has some great views back to the south, especially in spring when the wildflowers are in full bloom.

Parents refers to a larger category under which an object falls. For example, theAconcagua mountain page has the 'Aconcagua Group' and the 'Seven Summits' asparents and is a parent itself to many routes, photos, and Trip Reports.
