Overview

The route up the Weißseespitze North face is an easy one and perfect for beginners.
Nice and short ice tour with a fantastic view over the Ötztaler Alps and the Ortler Range.
Its about 50 to 55° and a bout 350 meters to climb.

Getting There

Getting there by Landeck, coming fom St Moritz ( Switzerland ) or Innsbruck ( Austria ).
The way through the Kaunertal costs 20 € toll, the parking range is your starting point of the tour.

Route Description

The route starts at the Glacier Restaurant Park Range.
There you follow the ski piste and turn early left to the wall.
You follow the ascent to an ice mogul wich can be climbed or you avoid it on the left side.
Then follow the ascent to the top of the Weißseespitze.
Due to heavy icefall on the left, it is recommended to stay rightmost.
The summit plateau is bristling with crevasses, so be carefull.
Descent along the western ridge and Falginjoch.
If the conditions are good you can go down towards the ski slopes before arriving at Falginjoch.
About 4 hours for ascent and 2 hours for descent.
