The falls.....

The Bridal Veil falls and Lake Serene hike is a fairly popular one, so I won't go too in depth about the hike itself (very well maintained, and not as hard as people claim if you do other hikes EVER).

I've been here before in fall, and its pretty bland, so I would definitely say spring is the best time to go, and this is why:

Bridal Veil TailThe first thing you see

Then, you turn right, and walk up some stairs:

Bridal Veil BottomThen...

Then you get the "main attraction" as it were, which, apparently, is all some people come to see, then they walk back to their cars and miss the lake....

Bridal Veil FallsThen...

So, after taking a bunch of pictures, wiping the spray off the lens, taking more, wiping....and so on, I gave up, and hoped that I had at least one good one. On to the lake.

In the shadow of the mountain....

OK, I lied, I know why a lot of non-hikers don't go to the lake, I always see people on this trail in tennis shoes (cheap ones) or even flip flops, so I can imagine being discouraged by...*gasp*...ROCKS ON THE TRAIL!?!?

Anyway, enough spite, on to pictures:

This is the second nice waterfall you come across after the little side trip to bridal veil, it was MUCH easier to photograph due to the lack of mist being poured onto my camera.

Must be fakeFirst...

Then this one:

Spring falls are better than...fall falls...Then..

Then you round a corner, and see the mountain, or, sheer face, whatever.

Real men smell flowersYep..

My wide angle...

On the way down, we got a little break in the haze, which was good, because it was near dark anyhow...

The path out

Something I had been meaning to try for a while, getting a person in the picture with a long exposure waterfall, I actually took a few that came out well, but I'm making a dumb face, so I'll post this one instead:

DONT MOVE

Thats all for now, nice place, if a little overused.

pic perfect

Nice reflection in the lake, nice sun sparkle off the ridge. Who cares about the face as long as the waterfall looked great. Gives us more hiking details next time.
