Overview
Purian Sar Mountains is a sub-region of Batura Muztagh in Western Karakorum (Pakistan).Glaciers:
- Rara Gamuk (Glacier)
- Sath Marau (Glacier, other names: Satmaro, Swat Maras)
- Kukuar-Toltar Glacier
- Toltar Glacier
- Baltar Glacier
Mountains:
- Purian Sar (S - 6293 m, N - 6247 m)
- Koran Peak
- Swat Maras (6005 m)
- Sath Marau Tower (5967 m)
- Kuti Pokush (other names: Kuti Dorkush, Kutio Deri Kush)
- Soni Pokush (other names: Sani Pokush)
- Peak 6015 m

Getting There
Islamabad - Gilgit - Chalt - Torbuto Das - Bar VillageHiring jeep (up to 4-5 persons) from Gilgit to Bar is possible for about 2500 - 3500 Pakistani rupees (one way).
Bar - Toltar - Buipushkutu - Birgaybari - Rara Gamuk - Sath Maru Base Camp (trekking, 2-3 days, 5-6 stages, no climbing gear needed)
Base Camp - Advanced Base camp - Camp 1 (PD+/AD-, meadows, glacier, ice falls, rocks)
Red Tape
According to present regulations of Government of Pakistan no climbing permits are needed for all peaks less then 6500 m in this region. No military, border, other permits are needed as well.Sath Marau
North Sath Marau CWM panoramaAccording to Bar Nala villagers 100 years ago one of the hunters has killed 7 ibexes in this area. Sath Marau means "Seven Killed".

Names ?Jakub Well done. Great peaks with great photos - good to see this stuff on SP. I look forward to seeing you add more to it. You give a few references: Wala, Heichel and Mock etc. But they all spell most of the names differently to you: - Kuti Dorkush, not Kuti Pokush, - Sani Pakkush, not Soni Pokush etc etc. Where are you getting these spellings ? Even if they are "correct" it puts your page at odds with the major references to the area, causing some confusion and making it hard for people researching the peaks to see your good page. D

Re: Names ?I talked to the local people lot about the names. Previously known names are usually wrong (it is hard to hear the name correctly when it is spoken by local people) versions of my propositions. For example: Satmaro - means Sath Marau (7 Killed - Urdu). People in Bar village did not know what is Satmaro. Same with Kuti Pokush known before as Kuti Dorkush. "Pokush" means Peak in local language. Known previously Kuti Dorkush is probably a wrong version of words "Kutio Deri Kush" - meaning The View of Triangle (Kutio) Peak. Please notice, that I always give previous names too. Regards.
