Arriving to Lago Titicaca.

We took a night bus from Cuzco to Puno and got there at 6:30 am. Walked around the pier, had breakfast and waited for the boat that will take us to the Titicaca's inner islands.

Jana (Czech) and I met three americans and we toured with them. We sailed at 7 am by the quiet waters of Titicaca. The boat broke his way through a thick floating vegetation and got to an opened area from where we could see a few islands in the distance.

Uros Floating Island.

Two hours later, we got to the floating island of Uros. We were welcomed by its people and a bunch of friendly children. They were playing all around us. I thought about their way of life, very basic... they didn't need anything else. Everything they needed, they got it, their family.. all together!.

Amantani.

Our next stop was the island of Amantani. It took us four hours to get there. We had done our arrangements in Puno previously before sailing. So, all of the boat passengers stayed with several native families from the island chosen by the boat owner, while Jana and I stayed with Epifania, the mother of a small family who took us to her house, 20 minutes away from the village.

We relaxed for a while and then we hiked up to the island's highest hill. A great lookout point to overview the surroundings of the island. Titicaca looked endless from up there. We spent a few minutes there and got back to the village. We had a couple of biers with our american friends and then we headed back home for dinner.

Jana and I stayed at a 2-floor house, very confortale and provided of basic services, including a small kitchen with an oven made of mud (adobe).

Taquile.

Next morning, Jana and I woke up early. Had breakfast and headed down to the pier.

Our boat was waiting for us and it took us to our next and last destination: Taquile.

Once we got to Taquile, Jana and I walked for a while together and met with two other Czech girls we met days ago while hiking around Machu Picchu. We said hi to each other and talked to them for a while. I couldn't understand a word of what they were saying... just... see you in Praha!.

Then we splited out and I visited the island's highest elevation, while Jana visited a few houses and was part of Taquile's parties. An hour later we were together again, and got back to the boat.

Once in the boat, we relaxed on the deck while enjoyed our last moments in that beautiful and unique place. I really had a great time, specially because being there with Jana made our trip very enjoyable.

We got to Puno by 5 o'clock and took the latest bus to Desaguadero, the boarder between Peru and Bolivia. More adventures were up to come at the Bolivian soon after.
