Whitehorse Creek Canyon

Whitehorse Creek Canyon, looking east. Couldnt capture how majestic this canyon was with a picture, definitely worth seeing if you find yourself in the area. A segment on Oregon Field Guide reveals this along with Willow Creek is one of only two streams in Oregon to harbor endangered Lahontan Cutthroat Trout. ODFW and cattle ranchers came to an agreement that keeps cattle out of these creek bottoms to preserve habitat to save this fish from extinction. Both creeks are doing well, compared to some of the highly grazed creek bottoms I have seen in the high desert and in the Blue Mountains, the habitat here is recovering quickly.
