Time to spare

Whitbourn River valleyDeep in the valley the slopes are covered by glaciers, but I didn't quite get that far. Only saw them from a distance.

I had plenty of food as I arrived at Dart Hut, because I had planned for two extra days on my trip, in case of bad weather. As I didn't need those days yet, I had ample time to explore the area, and I put that to good use on an easy day trip to the Whitbourn valley.
Drying my feetSun bathing

Yesterday, I had to cross a river that was too dangerous to take off my boots, so I had to do it the Kiwi way and just wade through, and my boots got completely soaked. As my day trip was a short and easy one, I had lots of time to dry my boots in the strong sun. That my feet got to see the sun was only a by-product.

Re: Fantastic album!

Thanks, Eric!
You know, the best thing is that I'm reliving my trips, just by sifting through my old photos and posting them here. I knew this trip was, and always will be, unforgettable, but sometimes I'm still surprised by the detailed memories that a picture can trigger. Like drying my feet ;)

Härzliche Grüße, Rob
