Crevasse maze on the Winthrop Glacier

By late July the popular Emmons route up Rainier from Camp Schurman had been re-routed up the Winthrop Glacier. It was safer in terms of objective hazards, but the lower section below Curtis Ridge was a maze of crevasses.
