Remains on Mount Shasta

On our approach to the Wintun Glacier we happened to stumble a massive amount of bones laying about in one of the moraines. We were confused at first as to what sort of animal it might be... there were TONS of bones there. Finally we found a horseshoe... presumably some horse or mule that met its end long ago... though how it got so far up the moraine in extremely rough terrain was beyond us. July 2013
