From Interstate 84, North Powder Exit No. 285, follow Anthony Lakes signs about 18.4 miles to Forest Road 130, turn left on this road for 0.2 miles. There is no definite trailhead here.
Trail Info.
Follow one of the several dirt roads to the primary road, and then hike the primary road for about 1 mile to the trailhead. [Note: It might be possible for 4WD vehicles to navigate the road to the trailhead, but it is very rough.] Follow the trail about 1/2 mile to the lake. It took us about 1 hour to hike to the lake. The road and trail trail passes though mixed-conifer forest almost the entire way, but does afford some limited views of the main valley surrounding I-84 near North Powder just before arriving at the lake. The water in the lake is regulated by earth dam and locked outflow valve.
