Are we having fun, or what?...

Are we having fun, or what? We'd climbed the Snow Gully Glacier (renamed the So-Bahli-Ahli on new maps) to the summit Saturday, then bivied in the notch to the West and about 300' below. Temperature was probably -10 F. or below, with a 40-knot wind funnelling through the notch. We knew how to dig proper snow caves, but the snow was layer after layer of ice; we ended up with gaping holes, open to the sky. Read more than you ever wanted to know in the Trip Report.

Here, Mark is packed & ready to descend, except he's waiting for the last minute to put on his frozen-solid boots over already-frostnipped feet.
