360° panorama of Kleine Weiße, Hohe Weiße and Lodner

... seen from the slopes of the Lodner. Kleine Weiße (3059m) is the striking two-tone peak on the left. The dark peak on its right, with the lighter vertical lines, is the Hohe Weiße (3278m). Weiße (also written Weisse) is German for "White", but in this view it doesn't live up to its name. What appears to be dark rocks is actually a lot lighter, but with the sun almost behind they appear almost black. The next peak (3090m) has no name. Finally, on the right side of the saddle, is the Lodner (3228m). That's my goal for the day. The Lodner Ferner, a small glacier, used to cover the area below the saddle. High up there was still some ice left under the snow, but not much. 15 July 2013.
